RUSTBURG, Va. A woman has died after being hit by a car on Timberlake Road in Rustburg late Saturday night, according to Virginia State Police. The driver remained at the scene and the woman was taken to the Lynchburg General Hospital where she later died. The crash remains under investigation. Police are working to notify the next of kin

LYNCHBURG, Va. Authorities are searching for the man they believe stabbed someone in Lynchburg Thursday morning. At 11:17 a.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Easley Avenue just off the Lynchburg Expressway after someone was stabbed. The victim was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment. Officers identified the suspect as 47-year-old Steve Earnest Wade Jr., of Lynchburg, and charged him with one count of malicious wounding. Wade is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

LYNCHBURG, Va. Lynchburg General Hospital has 19,000 more masks than it did before Wednesday thanks to Panda Express. The local chain donated about 8,000 surgical masks and more than 1,900 KN95 masks. Centra officials said that months ago, the hospital and others across the country were not prepared with personal protective equipment. Hospital officials said because of the coronavirus, they go through PPE quickly and as the virus isnt going anywhere, the donation is a big help. Panda Express also donated food to hospital employees.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department released the name of the 37-year-old Lynchburg man who died in Thursday night’s crash. An officer thought Antonio Terrell Hunt Sr. was driving under the influence and initiated a traffic stop at 10:44 p.m., according to police. A driver is dead after a chase led to a fatal crash in Lynchburg, according to police. The driver then sped away and the officer reportedly tried to catch up, but eventually lost sight of the car. Crews arrived and then reportedly took the driver to Lynchburg General Hospital, where they died as a result of their injuries.

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. The Amherst County Sheriffs Office say they responded to a residence in the Canodys Store Road area of Amherst for a report of shots fired at 9 p.m. on Saturday. When deputies arrived on the scene they found Blakeman Norconk, 40, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. LYNCHBURG, Va. - A man is recovering from gunshot wounds he says he got while running away from a party Saturday morning. Police say a man came into Lynchburg General Hospital with a single gunshot wound around 4 a.m., he said he was shot running away from what was a party in the 2900 block of Langhorne Road. Officers had responded just three hours earlier to a shots fired call along that block. Officers say a party was dispersing, and shots were fired from multiple unknown shooters. The gunshot wound is considered non-life threatening.

LYNCHBURG, Va. - A 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at Lynchburg General Hospital after being found unresponsive inside the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center, according to the Lynchburg Police Department. At 7:14 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the jail for a report of an unresponsive man. When Kevin Tyler Caldwell was found, jail authorities performed CPR immediately until Lynchburg Fire Department medics and Lynchburg Police Department officers arrived, according to the Police Department. Caldwell was then transported to Lynchburg General Hospital and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
