A jury has convicted a Tennessee man in the slaying of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, whose bullet-riddled body was found in a field nearly 12 years ago in his hometown of Memphis.

A defense attorney for a man charged with fatally shooting former NBA player Lorenzen Wright attempted to poke holes in the testimony of a convicted killer who said Wright’s ex-wife gave him details about the slaying.

A former Navy sailor and convicted killer has testified that Lorenzen Wright’s ex-wife asked him to kill the former NBA player nearly 12 years ago in Atlanta.

Getty ImagesMEMPHIS, Tenn. - The ex-wife of slain former NBA player Lorenzen Wright agreed to a deal Thursday in which she pleads guilty to facilitation to first-degree murder and receives a 30-year prison sentence. Sherra Wright entered the plea during a hearing in Shelby County Criminal Court. Lorenzen Wright's body was found in a swampy field in Memphis in July 2010. Sherra Wright and co-defendant Billy Turner were charged with first-degree murder and had been scheduled to go to trial Sept. 16. Turner, a landscaper in the Memphis suburb of Collierville, and Sherra Wright attended the same church.
