The district recently took two books off the shelves at Lylburn-Downing Middle School for having what was called 'sexually explicit' material.

A conversation over banning certain books in school libraries is heating up after two sexually explicit books were removed from a Lexington middle school.

The books were removed from the Lylburn Downing Middle School library a week and a half ago, according to the district's superintendent.

Lexington City Schools is a small school district that consists of one elementary school and one middle school.
