Leesville Road Elementary School in Campbell County will be letting students out early Thursday due to an ‘unidentifiable odor,’ school officials say.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – School leaders in Campbell County announced Monday that someone at Leesville Road Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. The school will remain open, and school leaders said the person who tested positive is isolating. Anyone who came in contact with that person was told to start a quarantine period. CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – Campbell County Public Schools announced three positive COVID-19 cases across three different schools on Friday. Here are the schools affected, according to different notifications sent out by Director, Denton Sisk:One person tested positive at Rustburg High SchoolOne person tested positive at William Campbell Combined SchoolOne person tested positive at Leesville Road Elementary SchoolSisk said that each positive person has been informed to isolate and all associated close contacts have been informed to begin their quarantine period. “Campbell County Schools will continue to implement strategies to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The health and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and community are our primary concern,” said Sisk in the notifications.

This case is in Leesville Road Elementary and officials did not say whether it is a student or staff member. CCPS Director Denton Sisk said that COVID-19 positive person has been informed to isolate and all associated close contacts have been informed to begin their quarantine period. According to the statement, the elementary school will remain open for all other faculty and students.
