SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Authorities are looking to find the person responsible for calling in two fake bomb threats on Wednesday. At about 8:40 a.m., Integrated Textile Solutions on Parker Avenue in South Boston received two calls indicating that there was a bomb in the building. The company evacuated its employees for about four hours while the South Boston Police Department and two K-9 Virginia State Police officers searched the building. Back on January 11, someone called in a bomb threat at the same building. HENRY COUNTY, Va. – One K-9 officer’s career in law enforcement is coming to a happy end this week. On Tuesday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office announced that this is K-9 Smokey’s final week with the department. Smokey came to Henry County from the Netherlands and while working for the Sheriff’s Office, served with two handlers. During her career, she obtained multiple certifications including tracking, apprehension, area searches, building clearance and article searches. Smokey was called upon more than 400 times in her career for her skills, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Authorities say a 16-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection to an armed robbery in Lynchburg that happened in 2019. Once officers arrived, they say a K-9 tracked the suspects and detectives found clothing that matched the description of the suspects. Authorities say the clothing was then sent to the Virginia Dept. of Forensic Science, where it was matched to the 16-year-old suspect. The suspect was taken into custody on Nov. 18 and charged with armed robbery and wearing a mask in public.

The 15-week-old Belgian Malinois puppy is training to be a K-9. COVINGTON, Va. - A pair is facing charges after a collection of guns and drugs were seized during a traffic stop in Covington Monday, according to the Covington Police Department. Police say an officer saw a car going west on E. Madison Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Monday with an equipment violation. After checking his license, the officer found that Grimes did not have a valid license and that he is a convicted felon. Authorities say Grimes and Morehead were arrested. Morehead has been charged with felony possession of meth and possession of marijuana.

CNNANAHEIM, California (CNN) - An Anaheim police K-9 was attacked by a pit bull Wednesday while taking part in a search for a stabbing suspect, KCAL reported. Daron Wyatt, the incident began just before noon as officers were searching for a stabbing suspect. He eventually came out, but so did a large pit bull, which charged the K-9, prompting an officer to use a Taser gun on the pit bull in order to subdue it. The pit bull was turned over to Orange County Animal Care. The man taken into custody is not believed to be connected to the stabbing, Wyatt said.

They suspect is believed to be involved in multiple other vehicle larcenies as well.. They believe the teen is armed based on the fact of the stolen gun and that witnesses told police they saw the teen with a gun. There is a large police presence on Dairy Road in Roanoke County on Sunday evening.

CONCORD, N.C. - The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina is asking for help in finding one of its K-9s, who ran away during Fourth of July fireworks. At approximately 9:45 p.m., K-9 Igor was taken outside by his handler to go to the bathroom. Igor was not leashed at the time, which the Sheriff's Office says is how the handler usually lets Igor go to the bathroom at night. Fireworks went off near where Igor was, startling him and causing him to run away. Igor was last seen wearing a silver chain collar, and he is microchipped, according to the Sheriff's OfficeAnyone with information regarding the whereabouts of K-9 Igor should call the Sheriffs Office 704-920-3000.
