Altria has announced a new partnership with Japan Tobacco to bring a heat-not-burn cigarette to the U.S. market.

The investigation showed that JUUL launched an advertising campaign that appealed to youth, marketing to underage users with advertisements that used young models, social media posts, and free samples, according to the release.

Altria reports its nearly $13 billion investment in troubled vaping company Juul is worth 95% less than it originally paid.

A federal court has put a temporary hold on the government's order for Juul to stop selling its electronic cigarettes.

Those companies, and plenty more, saw their chief executives walk out the door just in the past few months, part of a record-breaking trend. That is up 14% compared to September and 15% more than the 149 CEO departures in October 2018. The report said most the CEO departures through October of this year -- 281 -- were from companies in the government and non-profit sector. The changes were prompted by "new legislation or political changes that influence leadership," the report said. The telecommunications and electronics sector was the second highest, with 188 departures, and financial companies had the third-highest number of CEO changes at 104.

ROANOKE, Va. - Some Roanoke-area teens are throwing the red flag on their peers who are using Juul's and other vape products. Students with the Roanoke Youth Leadership Alliance presented their research to Roanoke City Council Monday night. According to their findings, youth vaping locally is on the rise. "It takes a village mentality, but that village includes youth, and we need the youth of the village to also speak up and let their own friends know and what their own choices are and why," said J.D. But many teens aren't using it to quit smoking, but rather just start vaping.

A 16-year-old is opening about his harrowing experiencing with vaping. I thought that Juul was safer than smoking regular cigarettes, I was wrong," Krahn told WISC-TV. Krahn now has permanent lung damage and hes lucky to be alive. Krahn said while quitting smoking may sound difficult, going through this experience was far worse for him. More than a quarter of youths are actively vaping, Dr. Vivek Balasubramaniam, a pediatric pulmonologist at the hospital, said.

Crosthwaite, who had been chief growth officer at tobacco company Altria, a major investor in Juul. Juul and other makers of vaping products are facing a crisis due to a growing number of deaths and illnesses tied to their products. The company also said Wednesday it has a new marketing strategy: It will suspend all TV, print and digital ads and it will stop some of its lobbying efforts.
