Individuals associated with the Jefferson Forest High School football team have a known exposure to a COVID-positive person, according to a school division spokesman. Due to this, Friday’s scheduled game between Jefferson Forest and Liberty Christian Academy is canceled. Also, the junior varsity game against LCA on Monday, March 8, is canceled as well. As part of VDH guidelines, all football practices have also been temporarily suspended.

Wednesday, both Jefferson Forest and E.C. Glass are forced to cancel Friday games because of contact tracing. The Jefferson Forest high athletic twitter account confirms the cancelation “in accordance with quarantine guidance from the VDH” (Virginia Department of Health). The Seminole District website has both the Rustburg at EC Glass game scheduled for Friday at City Stadium, and the Jefferson Forest at Liberty Christian Academy game scheduled for Friday at Liberty University--updated to canceled.

The first practices to begin for football, competition cheer and sideline cheer immediately. Cross country, golf and volleyball to begin practices on the February 15th. The decision includes varsity sports at Jefferson Forest, Liberty and Staunton River high schools, involving the Seminole and Blue Ridge districts. Volleyball is approved for play with masks, and JV play beginning in-county only with more discussion coming at the February 18th meeting.
