An investigator fired from his job at the U.S. Center for SafeSport for allegedly stealing money seized at a drug bust has been arrested again.

New York's highest court overturned the 2020 rape conviction of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is praising an appeals court’s ruling that upholds Harvey Weinstein’s rape conviction and 23-year prison sentence.

A New York appeals court has excoriated Manhattan prosecutors for filling out Harvey Weinstein’s rape trial last year with what one judge deemed “incredibly prejudicial testimony” from women whose allegations weren’t part of the criminal charges against him.

Hundreds of New Yorkers have been summoned for jury duty, with most dismissed when they indicated by a show of hands that they couldn’t keep an open mind about Weinstein. The judge a lso tried to calm nerves after hearing someone gasp when he told jury candidates it was their sacred duty to serve. He called barring the public and the press from observing the process “inconsistent with having an open, transparent jury selection” and “against the law.”The case resumes Monday.
