An IRONMAN triathlon athlete was hit while cycling in Vinton over the weekend, according to the Vinton Police Department.

Thousands of athletes from all over the world are coming to the Roanoke Valley for the Carilion Clinic IRONMAN 70.3 Virginia’s Blue Ridge Triathlon.

Two thousand five hundred athletes are in the final hours of preparing for the rigorous IRONMAN triathlon.

Thousands of athletes will flood the Roanoke Valley for the IRONMAN race this weekend.
