The first Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have been spotted in Southwest Virginia! Sightings are now documented in Roanoke, Danville and Huddleston. Those spotting the birds say they've arrived earlier than usual this year.

The first Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have been spotted in Virginia! According to the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center, hummingbird migration is underway, and it won’t be long before Southwest Virginia sees the return of one of it’s most beloved birds.

ROANOKE, Va. – Many of us have been loving the warm weather lately and we’re not the only ones. According to Hummingbird Central, a ruby-throated hummingbird was spotted in Roanoke over the weekend.
