The graduate student in his sixth season of collegiate wrestling earned his fourth qualification to the NCAA Championships. AdConnor Brady and Dakota Howard each fought back in the consolation brackets to secure their births to the NCAA Championships and take third in their respective brackets.

Latona, a redshirt freshman, took a 5-3 decision while the freshman Smith won 12-7.
