Hobby Lobby is raising its minimum wage for full-time employees in the new year.

Next month, all full-time Hobby Lobby employees who earn an hourly wage will make at least $17 an hour. The company most recently raised its minimum hourly wage in 2014 to $15 for full-time hourly employees. The federally established minimum wage is currently $7.25. Virginia’s minimum wage will become $9.50, starting May 1, 2021, and by Jan. 1, 2026, will be $15 an hour. Hobby Lobby has locations in Christiansburg, Lynchburg and Galax.

LYNCHBURG, Va. - UPDATEPolice have identified this suspect. Police are looking for a man they say shoplifted at the Hobby Lobby in Lynchburg earlier this month. Security footage shows a man walking out without paying for several items at the Hobby Lobby on Wards Road on Oct. 4. Lynchburg police are investigating. LYNCHBURG, Va. - Folks in Lynchburg are talking and wondering about the new restaurant going up in the Hobby Lobby parking lot on Wards Road. Chick-fil-A, officially America's favorite fast food chain, is set to open at the location. The restaurant has taken the top spot on the American Customer Satisfaction Index for four years in a row. Chick-fil-A scored an 86 on a 100-point scale. That's one point lower than last year, but it still outpaced competitors like Panera Bread, Arby's, and Chipotle.
