The suspect, named by Lebanon's foreign ministry as Mohammad Saleh, was stopped on Thursday during a routine security check when his description matched those on a German warrant for his arrest, Greek police told CNN. "A charges d'affaires will head to Athens at 7am on Sunday to Syros island to meet with Saleh and to offer him consular assistance," the Ministry added. Greek police are cooperating with German authorities on the investigation, Chronopoulos said. Hijackers seized control of the Boeing 727 aircraft shortly after it took off from Athens, en route to Rome, on June 14, 1985.

On Wednesday and Thursday, volunteers at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Roanoke will be preparing for the big event which starts at 11 a.m. Friday. Organizers expect about 30,000 people will come and enjoy the Greek food, wine, traditional music and dancing, while also giving back to the local community. "We've been giving back money every year from the proceeds from our festival. The 5.1 magnitude tremor struck 23 kilometers (14 miles) northwest of the capital, according to the Athens Institute of Geodynamics. The Institute said there had been seven aftershocks, with the largest measuring 3.1. Residents who contacted the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the quake was strong but short, describing televisions shaking and objects falling from bookshelves. The local man had been detained by police for questioning, after the 59-year-old molecular biologist went missing July 2 while attending a conference. Last Monday, her body was discovered by two locals deep inside a cave, according to Crete's Chief of Police Konstantinos Lagoudakis. Eaton was the wife of British scientist Tony Hyman and mother of two sons, according to the institute. Eaton's sister described her as an "accomplished woman" of "insatiable curiosity," and praised her achievements.
