The Bobcats lead until the third quarter, where the Highlanders were able to pull away thanks in part to guard Olivia Harris, who had 13 points that quarter, 35 overall. โIt started out, we had this mentality we would lose at first. We put it together, we had a talk in the locker room, got it straight, and got the dub,โ Harris said. โIโve been working on this the whole year, but we just felt like we needed to get a state dub this year, and itโs my final year, so Iโm really excited to get it this year.โGlenvar will now travel to Gate City on Wednesday for the Class 2 State Semifinal.

"People are just buying in to our mentality here and our work ethic and having that mindset throughout," said Glenvar head coach Kevin Clifford. "We're just going to come out, have a good season, hopefully win a few ball games but, if nothing else we know we're going to work. Turf installation is underway at Glenvar High School's stadium. Games at Glenvar were routinely delayed or canceled when it rained hard due to the field flooding. On several occasions, the school had to move its playoff games from its home field because of the muddy conditions. Roanoke County School Board Chair Donald Butzer, who represents the area where Glenvar High is located, says the new turf was a necessity for the school.
