Though there didn't appear to be an immediate threat to school safety, the Sheriff's Office provided additional security at the school on Thursday. Deputies with the Giles County Sheriff's Office saw two vehicles Aug. 29 in a "suspicious location" on Klotz Road in the Big Stoney Creek area of Giles County, according to the Sheriff's Office. Deputies saw both vehicles were occupied. They eventually found meth, LSD, morphine and other items that indicated an intent to sell narcotics, according to the Sheriff's Office. Deputies charged Saluda Repass, 36, of Pembroke, with possession with intent to distribute meth, as well as two counts of possession of a Schedule I/II drug, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The raids were a result of a prolonged investigation into the distribution of meth in the county, according to the Sheriff's Office. On Tuesday, a team of deputies carried out two separate drug raids in Giles County. Cecil, Hare and Estep are all being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail. Cecil was granted a $20,000 bond, while Hare received a $6,000 bond and Estep received a $3,000 bond.

According to the Giles County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened in Narrows late Wednesday night.

Sylvester Simard, 24, Alexander Ross, 26 and Jeremiah Sarver-Wolf were all charged with manufacturing marijuana and conspiracy to manufacture marijuana, according to the Giles County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived, they found the trio, more than 100 marijuana plants and other items used to grow the drug. All three men are in New River Valley Jail without bond.
