Due to COVID-19, the city doesnt have enough money to open the facilities at Washington Park or Fallon Park for the next two summers. A GoFundMe was started to help raise $32,500, the amount needed to open both pools in 2021. Fundraiser organizers hope to continue raising enough money so that the pools could possibly open for the summer of 2020. "We really shine when we come together and do those things.You can drop off a donation at any American National Bank or online at the Keep Roanoke City Public Pools Open GoFundMe page.

Hundreds of racers and cycling enthusiasts came to Roanoke to compete and enjoy the festivities. The racers competed in cyclocross, a variation of road cycle racing that takes place on a pop-up course. Although many visiting cyclists came to Roanoke, many local cyclists, including Earl Smith, competed in the event. "Whenever I started riding on the road, I was welcomed so freely into the riding community in Roanoke," Smith said.

Ride Solutions moved a bike-share station from Brown-Robertson Park to Vic Thomas Park, and another from Vinton's Farmers Market to its public library. The service will also shut down its stations on Market Street, in Fallon Park and next to the Martin Luther King bridge downtown. The bike-share program relies on sponsorships, and Ride Solutions' director says they did not have enough sponsors to keep these stations running. "Obviously, funding needs change and sponsorship opportunities change during the life of a program," said Jeremy Holmes, director of Ride Solutions.
