Bivens, 24, a pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays farm system, had his life forever changed on Aug. 27, when his wife, 14-month-old son and mother-in-law were all allegedly murdered by his brother-in-law. Bivens grew up in Danville and graduated from George Washington High School in 2014. Along with the photos and video, Bivens posted this message on Oct. 10 to Instagram:Happy 25th Birthday in heaven, baby! Give our little pooh bear a kiss for me.

On his mother-in-law, who was also killed, Bivens wrote, "You loved your family more than anyone I've ever seen. Emily, my sweetheart, you are the best wife and mother this world has ever seen. A funeral service will start at 2 p.m. Saturday for 62-year-old Joan Bernard, 24-year-old Emily Bivens and her 14-month-old son, Cullen Bivens. According to Emily's obituary, their 14-month-old son, who was also killed, was "the love of Emily and Blakes lives." Joan Bernard's obituary said that she "devoted her life to being the best Mama and Nana there ever was." The family will receive friends prior to the 2 p.m. service from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
