"It was extremely difficult [for him to become an Eagle Scout] because he couldn't do it in a typical way most kids can." Although most scouts must complete Eagle requirements before 18, Boy Scouts allows exceptions for advancement for those with special needs. "I think becoming an Eagle Scout would be hard for anybody, and to see what he has done is just amazing," Mason said.
