It’s not a traditional opponent for the Cavaliers, but coach Harless says he was happy to get the matchup. “Great football program, great tradition, just neat having them come to Daleville and play,” Harless says. AdWhen last we saw GW Danville they were falling in the Class 4 region semifinals to Salem by a 48-21 count. The Eagles and Cavaliers are set to kick off at 1 p.m. in Daleville on Saturday.

In semifinals action, JB Dragovich of Hidden Valley battled hard against Phoenix Alya of Skyline but would lose by pin fall at 2:14. In wrestlebacks, Dragovich would go on to place third in the 120 weight class. Preston would finish as runner-up after falling to Travis Ragland of New Kent by major decision. Tingler would place 6th in the 138 weight class.

The Auburn star shortstop committed to play softball at Radford, and was ready for her final season, hoping to defend Auburn’s Class 1 title. Coaches have been told to treat this new time as a dead period, which means limited contact with the players pertaining to softball. And even though Boyd is heading off to play at the next level, there’s no replacement for a high school senior season.

Washington to head to the state championship for the second time in three years. “As soon as we saw the tweet we were like, okay, our season is over,” senior Kenleigh Gunter said. “I was shocked I would never play basketball again. Just knowing that everyone had a good season and we made it that far, that’s what really made it happy.”“We worked hard, they worked hard, we both worked hard to get there all season,” junior Briana Myers said. It is bigger than basketball, basketball isn’t the most important thing right now.”But one thing is for sure, the legacy the class of 2020 has left behind at Lord Botetourt is undeniable.

And after surviving another VHSL gauntlet, Coach Bill Pope says his team is used to the "go big or go home" mentality. You know that we have to come out and play or it ends, that's how it works, so. The 27-1 Vikings will face Phoebus Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Siegel Center on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Northside is led by 6-7 James Madision signee Julien Wooden, who scored 36 points in the Vikings' state semifinal win over Cave Spring.

Hidden Valley played a great game tonight and I thought we just stepped it up there in the end a were able to finish it in game five," Cavaliers head coach Julie Connor said. Lord Botetourt will take on Tabb in the Class 3 Final Friday night in Salem at 8 p.m. In Class 2, Radford blanked Union 3-0 to advance to the state finals vs. Poquoson Friday at 6 p.m. in Salem.
