Everyone’s favorite chicken restaurant is stepping up their spicy chicken sandwich game. Chick-fil-A is adding a limited-edition grilled spicy chicken deluxe sandwich to its menu starting January 25. The grilled spicy deluxe sandwich will feature grilled chicken marinated in a spicy seasoning, served on a toasted multigrain brioche bun with Colby-Jack cheese, lettuce and tomato. “We know guests are looking to add more variety to their meals, especially after a year where new food experiences were limited. The Grilled Spicy Deluxe offers the spicy flavors our guests have come to know and love, now available in a grilled option,” said Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-AChick-fil-A previously tested this item on its menu during the summer of 2019.

It’s so wonderful and we love that chick-fil-a embraces Christmas in such an extravagant way,” said another customer Michell Hutchens. Just the joy that lights bring, especially this time of year, is really exciting to a lot of people,” said Duffsey. “It’s a happy time of year and I think we need to keep remembering that.”The Christmas lights display was done by a local company called Christmas Decor Roanoke.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – Crews responded to a house fire Friday night in Roanoke just off of 460 near Chick-fil-A on Sourwood Street. Officials at the scene told 10 News that three men who were home at the time of the fire all made it out safely. Saturday morning, officials told 10 News they determined the cause of the fire to be accidental, starting in the engine compartment of a vehicle inside the garage. Officials said there were not any working smoke alarms in the home and damage estimates are $220,000. Roanoke County Fire and Rescue is reminding everyone to have working smoke alarms in your home.

Chick-fil-A sauce at home? The popular fast-food giant announced earlier this week that folks nationwide can buy 16-ounce bottles of its signature Chick-fil-A sauce and Polynesian sauce at select retailers starting next year. Unfortunately, there aren’t any in our state right now, but the sauces can currently be purchased at “Publix, Kroger, Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi, with a nationwide rollout scheduled for early 2021,” according to the company. When the 16-ounce bottled go on sale, they will be priced around $3.49 per bottle, and with every purchase, all royalties Chick-fil-A receives will be donated to the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarship Initiative. The Bonsack Chick-fil-A will give your dog a treat when you bring them through the drive-thru during its Dog Days of Summer event on Wednesday, August 26. LYNCHBURG, Va. – On Wednesday, a Chick-fil-A location in Lynchburg saw an overwhelming amount of support for its coin collection event during a nationwide coin shortage. The restaurant on Wards Road shared pictures of people wrapped around the building waiting to exchange their coins for gift certificates. For every $10 in rolled coins, participants received that same amount in paper bills, as well as a coupon for a free menu item. Chick-fil-A submitted plans to build its 5th Lynchburg restaurant location on Timberlake Road across from Kroger. A 24/7 drive-thru Sheetz is set to open across from BB&T and Bojangles'. Thomas Builders is also planning a retail development featuring two 6,600 square foot multi-use commercial buildings. Construction started about two weeks ago, however it’s not clear when everything will be completed.

ROANOKE, Va. – For those in Florida, starting next month they won’t need to go to a Chick-fil-A to have some of the restaurant’s amazing sauces. The restaurant announced Wednesday that it’s launching a pilot program to sell both Chick-fil-A sauce and its Polynesian sauce in all Florida Publix, Target, Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores. Rather than sell these bottles for company profit, 100 percent of Chick-fil-A, Inc. proceeds from the retail sales of the 16-ounce bottled sauces will be donated to Chick-fil-A’s Team Member scholarship program, which will award $17 million to 6,700 Team Members in 2020. Those who go to a Chick-fil-A in Florida won’t be limited to those two sauces but will also be able to get 8-ounce bottles of barbecue, honey mustard and garden herb ranch. Now while we don’t know this for sure, if this Florida program has a successful launch, it’s likely that Chick-fil-A would launch this to more markets, hopefully Virginia.

Thursday is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. The Pulaski Police Department received a free lunch along with some baked goods, courtesy of Pulaski County Hearts Behind the Badge. The Bonsack Chick-Fil-A is offering a free sandwich or 8-count nugget. It's a small token of appreciation that they've done every year since the unofficial holiday was created in 2015. Law enforcement officers can get it on this deal until 10 p.m. Thursday.

The Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes are considered anti-LGBTQ groups by some for their views. But for one Chick-fil-A employee, it was just another day on the job. It all started when Hall was going to get her son out of her van and dropped her phone straight down a storm drain. After they hung up on him, Seth and Hall noticed the man hole cover next to the drain wasn't bolted down. "He then climbs down into the hole and retrieves my phone which miraculously is not broken or wet." That led to neighbors feeling deja vu in many of the comments they made to the planning commission, just like when they fought the Chick-fil-A that was approved five years ago, also at the entrance to their neighborhood. But even with that in mind, many of the neighbors walked out feeling steam rolled by the countty. The area unsuccessfully fought the Chick-fil-A opening five years ago and the restaurant was mentioned in nearly every comment. The planning commission highlighted the fact that the corridor is designated as transitional, and it has been in the plan for nearly two decades to put the land to better use.

A California Chick-fil-A manager is being credited with saving the life of a 20-year-old man who was unresponsive in the restaurant's parking lot. Handing his tablet to a co-worker, he bolted across the lot and found a man inside the vehicle who was unresponsive and not breathing. The man "wasn't breathing or anything, his eyes were rolled back behind his head, I know this guy was out," Nenguke told KGTV. ODESSA, Texas - As if we needed any more reasons to love Chick-fil-A, two Chick-fil-A restaurants in Odessa teamed up to feed hundreds of first responders after Saturday's deadly shooting. Employees worked and cooked 500 sandwiches, according to a Facebook post by one of the restaurants. The restaurant had planned to close early after the shooting, but when the opportunity to feed first responsders arose, rather than leave, every employee stayed to help. Rapper Quavo, of the group Migos, is ready to save the day and make our chicken sandwich dreams come true. Popeye's first announced their new chicken sandwich on Twitter earlier this month, and Black Twitter was all over it, with the sandwich dominating discussions. The Popeye's sandwich is remarkably similar to Chick-fil-A's. It features a fried chicken fillet on a brioche bun, complemented by a few pickles and a slather of mayonnaise.

As of Monday, Chick-fil-A offers macaroni and cheese as a side option nationwide -- the only addition since 2016. "Mac & Cheese is the quintessential comfort food, and something we are so excited to offer our guests at Chick-fil-A," said Amanda Norris, executive director of menu and packaging in a statement. Well, according to data from Market Watch, cited in a Food and Wine report from earlier this week, its -- drum roll, please! -- Chick-fil-A. Market Force polls more than 7,600 people, and looks at their satisfaction and whether theyd recommend a restaurant to someone else. And then last years No 1, Pizza Ranch, didnt even earn enough votes to qualify for this years poll, Food and Wine points out. As for McDonalds, it actually came in last place -- but as the Food and Wine article points out, the burger continues to top every single restaurant on the entire list in sales.

It took Chick-fil-A manager Daryl Howard, right, about 15 minutes to change a flat tire for a 96-year-old WWII veteran employees know as "Mr. Daryl Howard was taking orders Thursday morning at the restaurant in Severn when a 96-year-old WWII veteran, known to employees as Mr. Lee, came to the register and said he had a flat tire. "He was shaking, almost in tears saying he barely made it to the store on three tires because one was bad," Rudy Somoza, another manager, told CNN. Lee was able to park but had no one to help change his tire. It took Howard about 15 minutes to change the tire.

But that didn't stop one Georgia teen when he saw a 6-year-old boy choking in the drive-thru this week. Now, manager Logan Simmons is being called a hero -- and rightfully so. Surveillance video from the Flowery Branch Chick-fil-A shows Simmons, 19, climbing through the window and running to the car where the boy was in the back seat. Simmons said that once he got to the car, he saw that the boy's seat belt was tangled around his neck. "Everyone's been cheering and shouting my name and asking me to come sit with them and stuff," Simmons said Friday.

For the fourth year in a row, the Georgia-based chicken chain has been named America's favorite restaurant, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index. The chain, whose customer service is perhaps just as well-known as its food, scored an 86 on the 100-point scale, down one point from last year. Four chains tied for fourth with a score of 80: Arby's, Chipotle, Papa John's and Pizza Hut.
