Stacked hay bales make Charlie Brown about 15-feet-tall, while Snoopy and Woodstock are built with wood frames, hay and chicken wire. Bays says it’s a sign of her love for the cartoon characters, while protesting the holiday classic being taken off TV. “It’s like the quintessential memory, watching Charlie Brown at the holidays.

The diligence Urena spent over the last two decades trying to grow such a pumpkin have finally paid off. Urena took the top prize at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Organizers said it set a record grown for pumpkins grown in the state.
