New exhibits at museums in Ohio and California are celebrating the upcoming centenary of the birth of Charles “Sparky” Schulz, the man who created the comic strip Peanuts.

After a year on Apple TV+, the program will air on PBS and PBS Kids at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, according to Variety and other media outlets.

If there were ever a list of fictional beach meetings that made significant cultural impacts, then this would likely be on it. On July 31, 1968 in the famous “Peanuts” comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz, Charlie Brown and Franklin met on a beach.

A farmer in California has broken the record for growing the states biggest pumpkinweighing in at 2,175 pounds. Leonardo Urena spent the summer tending to the massive gourd, on a 1200 square-foot- plot of land. The diligence Urena spent over the last two decades trying to grow such a pumpkin have finally paid off. Urena took the top prize at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Organizers said it set a record grown for pumpkins grown in the state.
