A woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Buchanan County on Wednesday, according to Virginia State Police.

Everyone is now accounted for after 44 were originally reported missing following severe flooding in Buchanan County, according to the sheriff.

44 residents are unaccounted for, the Sheriff’s Office said, but there have been no fatalities or injuries so far.

Roanoke City and Roanoke County crews received the call around 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Between the two departments and the city of Salem, 17 personnel were sent to the area with boats and equipment.

ROANOKE, Va. – Appalachian Power is reporting that thousands of customers are without power. Earlier today that number exceeded 3,800. As of 1:13 p.m., Buchanan County has the most outages with 439. Following Buchanan, is Roanoke City, Henry County and Dickenson County with 189, 142 and 87 outages, respectively.
