The threat for brush fires will be higher than usual through Wednesday.

If you saw smoke near the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport on Tuesday afternoon, don’t worry - the smoke was from a brush fire, which is now fully contained, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

A brush fire in Forest damaged some barns on Tuesday, according to the Forest fire chief.

The wind backs off Wednesday as temperatures begin to rise

The Virginia Department of Forestry was monitoring the Havens Wildlife Management area in Roanoke County Wednesday morning after a brush fire tore through Tuesday.

On Saturday, the Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department responded to a 5-acre brush fire that they think was human caused.
