ROANOKE, Va. – Parking changes are coming to the Star City. Roanoke City Council approved the code changes earlier this week, impacting the way you appeal tickets and short-term parking downtown. On short-term parking, you’ll have to move your car 500 feet, which is about a block, for two hours after reaching your time limit. Park Roanoke said that comes after an internal audit found people weren’t moving very much and it’s all about helping businesses. Park Roanoke is working on a program specifically to help people in the service industry who work downtown.

ROANOKE, Va. – Grabbing takeout in downtown Roanoke, but nowhere to park? Well, Roanoke City’s teamed up with PARK Roanoke to help you out. There are now 16 locations — about 30 spots in total — throughout downtown that are designated for 15-minute curbside pickup. “This will just be another piece of our game plan to bring citizens back downtown," said Brian Mann, the enterprise administrator for PARK Roanoke. PARK Roanoke will start enforcing parking and giving out tickets on Monday, Oct. 19.

ROANOKE, Va. – If you park in downtown Roanoke, you’ll soon need to keep an eye on the clock because starting in October, the city will resume giving out parking tickets. PARK Roanoke announced that starting on Monday, October 19, it will once again give tickets for parking violations. PARK Roanoke enterprise administrator Brian Mann said if you’re going through a tough time financially and cannot pay a ticket, give them a call. Mann said at first, PARK Roanoke will issue some warnings but then it will start giving out tickets. They also created 15-minute curbside pickup parking spots throughout downtown.

FERRUM, Va. – At fall football practice, the sun beats down on a Ferrum program that's just warming up. The Panthers went 6-4 a year ago and in his second year at the helm, coach Rob Grande is ready to build off a solid first season. That set a tone I think in the second year," Grande said. There are big moves ahead for Ferrum as it joins the ODAC next season, but the Panthers aren't looking too far ahead. Just aiming to do well in their final season playing in the USA South.
