Berkshire Health and Rehabilitation Center in Vinton organized a Christmas in July parade on Friday. Anything thats uplifting is wonderful right now, and this was a lot of fun for the residents, Preston said. They were all eager and excited to see their families.The parade participants included Gregory Turner, who came to see his wife Betty, a resident at Berkshire. Preston said this was a sequel to a parade Berkshire organized for residents in March.

Berkshire on Saturday reported it has $128 billion in cash, up from $122 billion in the second quarter. Berkshire's operating profit rose to $7.9 billion, up from $6.9 billion a year earlier, boosted by gains across its holdings. While Berkshire has yet to make a major acquisition, the company has been taking steps to embrace more reasonably valued tech stocks in recent years.
