Its a busy first day of the season for forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami as they have begun issuing advisories on Tropical Depression 3. Forecasters at Colorado State University, NC State University and NOAA are all predicting above-normal numbers of named storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes.

ROANOKE, Va. – 11 P.M. UPDATE:Tropical Depression One has officially been upgraded to Tropical Storm Arthur this evening. Tropical Storm Arthur precedes the official start of hurricane season which begins on June 1st. ArthurA Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect along the North Carolina coast (see photo below). According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression One, soon to be named Arthur, formed off the coast of east-central Florida Saturday afternoon. The single mom of 8-year-old Arthur said longtime friends have rallied around her, including her "Cruel Intentions" costar Sarah Michelle Gellar and actress Jaime King. Blair, 47, went public last October with her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, which affects the central nervous system. Blair said Gellar started a meal train in which other stars provide meals for Blair and her son.
