Rohde hit a fade-away 3-pointer from the right baseline nearly falling into the stands to give Virginia the lead for good.

Jae’Lyn Withers scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Ian Jackson also scored 16 points and North Carolina defeated Virginia 81-66 on Saturday. Withers was 4 of 6 on 3-pointers in posting his second double-double this season and Jackson added three more 3s. Ven-Allen Lubin scored 14 points, RJ Davis 12 and Drake Powell 11 for the Tar Heels (17-11, 10-6 ACC), who made 9 of 16 from the arc and outrebounded the Cavaliers 35-21. Isaac McKneely scored 17 points and became the 52nd Cavalier to reach 1,000 career points. Dai Dai Ames added 12 for Virginia (13-14, 6-10).

Freshman star Cooper Flagg had 17 points and 14 rebounds, notching his seventh double-double of the season before halftime, as No. 3 Duke cruised past Virginia 80-62.

Isaac McKneeley scored 20 points, Dai Dai Ames added 14 of his 18 in the second half and Virginia beat Georgia Tech 75-61. Andrew Rohde scored 11 points with nine assists for Virginia. The Cavaliers have won 13 in a row against Georgia Tech, dating to a 68-64 loss on Jan. 9, 2016, and 21 of their last 23. The Yellow Jackets are 1-12 all-time on Virginia’s home court, where they have lost 11 straight. Blake Buchanan threw down a dunk to make it 25-all with 6:46 left in the first half, Jacob Kofie followed with a three-point play 42 seconds later and Virginia led the rest of the way. Naithan George hit five 3-pointers and led the Yellow Jackets with 20 points.

Virginia played well enough at home to get the key conference win.
