The cover features 22-year-old Manchester United soccer star Marcus Rashford, who in June successfully campaigned to force Britains government to grant free food vouchers to poor families during the summer holidays. They were photographed by Misan Harriman, the first Black photographer tasked with shooting the magazines September issue traditionally seen as the most important one in the Vogue calendar. The fold-out cover features 18 other faces, including campaigners for the Black Lives Matter movement, feminists and anti-racism activists. He said that the incident highlighted how despite his achievements, "the first thing that some people will judge you on is the color of your skin.Last year, the September issue of British Vogue was guest-edited by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

Read full article: Who will be named model of the year?(CNN) - The British Fashion Council has announced the nominations for the 2019 Fashion Awards, with model Adut Akech and designer Daniel Lee of Bottega Veneta among those recognized. The awards recognize "exceptional individuals whose imagination and creativity has broken new ground in fashion" in the fashion industry, a British Fashion Council (BFC) press release stated. Alongside Akech, Adesuwa Aighewi, Adwoa Aboah, Winnie Harlow and Kaia Gerber have been nominated for model of the year at the 2019 awards. Both designers have also been nominated in multiple categories: Lee in the British womenswear designer category, Jones for best British menswear designer, and both for best accessories designer. BFC chair Stephanie Phair said in a statement, "I would like to congratulate all the nominees of The Fashion Awards 2019.
