LYNCHBURG, Va. – For the first time in the Liberty-North Florida series, a team has won back-to-back games as the Flames complete the sweep over North Florida, defeating the Ospreys 80-60. The Flames improve to 17-5 and 8-2 in the ASUN Conference while North Florida drops to 7-13 and 5-5 in conference. As Liberty held North Florida on a near four-minute scoring draught, Liberty extended its lead to 18 points (60-42) with 11:52 left in the game. Liberty countered with an 8-0 run to keeping its double-digit lead as North Florida went on a three-minute scoring draught to seal the win. Liberty shot 54 percent while limiting North Florida to 41 percent.

The Lady Flames’ final 32-point margin of victory (78-46) marked their largest ever in an ASUN Conference game. DeLAND, Fla – Liberty bounced back to end in its weekend series at Stetson with an impressive defensive performance and a 68-58 win over the Hatters. Liberty improves to 12-5 this season and 4-2 in the ASUN Conference while Stetson falls to 4-6 and 2-2 in conference. Despite limiting Stetson to shooting 29 percent from the field, the Hatters were able to grab 11 offensive rebounds, giving Stetson four second chance points. Parker led Liberty with four assists. Liberty outscored Stetson 40-24 inside the paint.

Lynchburg, Va. – Liberty erased a 12-point deficit to defeat Kennesaw State 69-63, Friday night at Liberty Arena. The Flames improve to 10-4 and 2-1 in the ASUN Conference while Kennesaw State falls to 3-8 and 0-3 in conference. After getting settled in, Kennesaw State was able to jump out to a 12-0 lead midway through the half. Kennesaw State shot 38.5 percent from the field. I have a lot of respect for Kennesaw State and the season they are having; it is just a matter of time before they get some wins because they play quality basketball.

On Jan. 7, the Bisons will face Liberty in the Flames' first home game at Liberty Arena during conference play. During Liberty’s first two seasons in the ASUN Conference, the Flames have won a share of the ASUN regular-season title in each season.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women’s basketball team has announced its revamped 16-game league schedule for the Lady Flames' third season of ASUN Conference play in 2020-21. The Lady Flames' conference-opening road swing will take them to Stetson (Jan. 2) and ASUN newcomer Bellarmine (Jan. 4). For the second year in a row, the Lady Flames will head to Kennesaw State for their regular-season finale, March 1.
