Cathy Hernandez is truly honored to serve as an anchor and reporter at KPRC 2 News.
She grew up in Galena Park and earned her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Houston in 2009.
After graduation, she started her career as a producer at KPRC 2. She then worked as a reporter and anchor in El Paso and Denver, before returning to KPRC 2 in 2015.
Cathy has always had a passion for cheering on our city! She was a member of the UH Cougar Dolls and The Houston Texans Cheerleaders. You’ll always find her waving a rally towel, supporting the Houston Astros during baseball season!
She is honored to work in the community she loves and share stories that impact all Houstonians.
In her free time, Cathy loves to cherish moments with her husband, her three wonderful children, and her supportive loved ones.
