Char Morrison joined the WSLS team as a Content Gatherer in fall 2024.
They are new to the Roanoke Valley, but are a southeast native, graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2023 where they majored in journalism with a minor in sociology.
Before moving to the Star City, Char worked as a government accountability reporter for a local paper in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Char has a passion for hyperlocal journalism with a focus on community advocacy and loves to dive deep into anything and everything news. Outside of work, they love to bake, craft, collect vinyl and attend lots of concerts.
