LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty University is charging full steam ahead into the land of big-time college football. This summer it opened its new $29 million dollar indoor practice facility. The 95,000 square-foot facility sits adjacent to Williams Stadium. It features a curved roof with a 70-foot clearance and Astro Turf. The facility will pay dividends when inclement weather moves into the area, but perhaps more importantly, the recent addition will be a crucial part of the Flames' recruiting efforts.

"Well this is a game-changing facility for our football program. Really, to have one of the top indoor practice facilities in America located right here on our campus in Lynchburg is a huge impact for our football program. We are really excited about this. The facility compares favorably to anything at the Power Five level, and includes some of the better facilities in Virginia, such as Virginia Tech and UVA," said Ian McCaw, Flames athletic director.
There will also be a patio in front of the facility, where fans can enjoy tailgating prior to games. Other athletic programs will use the facility for conditioning and training as well.
