Martin Cox resigns as Rockbridge County head football coach

ROANOKE, Va. – Rockbridge County is in search of a new head football coach following the resignation of Martin Cox.

10 Sports confirmed the decision with school administrator’s Thursday night after the open position was posted Wednesday.

Cox led Rockbridge County to six wins during his tenure as coach which dates back to 2022. He went to Lexington with a wealth of experience as a college player at West Virginia University and as a longtime assistant coach at Jefferson Forest High School.

An immediate search for a replacement has begun.
