BLACKSBURG, Va. – Star Center and current Las Vegas Ace Liz Kitley returned to her home court today as Virginia Tech retired her number 33 jersey.
Kitley’s accolades are the best in Hokies women’s basketball, including first in double-figure games, blocks, rebounds, field goals made, field goal percentage, 3 times ACC player of the year, and was a key part of the magical Final Four run that the Hokies made in 2023.
“It just seems like, a lofty dream I guess, that I never would have associated with myself, but I’m having to do that now, which I think is really cool. Mainly it makes me excited to bring my family back here for years and years to come, because something so permanent is so special, and not a lot of people get that. So to feel like I’ve had that much impact on the community and program is really cool, and I’m going to keep bringing people back here so I can show off a little bit, I guess.”
