Virginia Tech women close non-conference play with home win over Campbell

Virginia Tech women defeat Campbell 81-46 (WSLS)

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Matilda Ekh set the tone offensively with 15 first half points and the Hokies defense followed in what proved to be an 81-46 victory over Campbell.

The win puts the Hokies on a two-game win streak before they resume the remainder of their ACC schedule at the top of the calendar year. Saturday also proved to be a big game for Mackenzie Nelson, Carys Baker and Rose Micheaux who all finished in double-figures scoring. Baker recorded her first double-double of her career with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Tech shot 50% from the field and held a 9-0 advantage on 3-point shots made in the game. It was the first time since December 21, 2015 vs. Radford that the Hokies had held an opponent to zero 3′s.
