ROANOKE, Va. – The best Division I football player in Virginia for 2024? Virginia Tech’s elusive pass rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland.

The Portsmouth native was named the 2024 Bill Dudley Award winner, having earned 13 of 14 first-place votes. Touted as one of the top defensive linemen in the nation with 16 sacks, APR becomes the first Hokie to win the award since Danville native David Wilson snagged the honors in 2011.
