FOREST, Va. – Our 2023 1st and 10 trophy tour rolls into the woods of Forest to check in on “The Moose” Josiah Bell of Jefferson Forest.
In week five against unbeaten Rustburg, the Cavaliers turned to their 6′3 220lb quarterback against the Red Devils. He had 118 yards and two scores on the ground, went 3 of 6 for passing with 146 yards and two more touchdowns. His nearly 300 yards of offense achieved the four score, or the Gettysburg Address, in the 45-24 win for Jefferson Forest.
He led the Cavs to a 10 win season that included a playoff win.
“Execute whatever coach calls at the highest level,” Bell said. “This year we ran a lot of q-power and up the middle stuff, so I think that works. We had a great o-line so that helped as well.”
“It was him and a lot of other great seniors that really worked hard. We had a phenomenal offseason and great offseason attendance,” head coach JT Crews said. “Guys really worked their tails off and it showed on Friday nights. To have the success we did and for Joe to have the success he did, it was awesome and really cool to see.”
Josiah is heading to Christopher Newport to play football in the fall.
