1st and 10 Camp Tour: G.W. Danville Eagles

Eagles missed the playoffs for the first time since 2012

DANVILLE, Va. – The 1st and 10 Camp Tour stays in the Piedmont District for a check on the Eagles of G.W. Danville.

Eagles head coach Nick Anderson said they have a new mindset heading into this season.

“We had a lot of — distractions — I’ll say at the beginning of the season last year. We almost had to start over with our team, so we learned a lot from that and we haven’t had those problems this year which has been great. So the model this year has been win...everywhere. Win when we are in the classroom, win in the weight room, and just compete and try to be the best you can be at everything, " Anderson said.

But it’s not just a one-man-winning team. Senior running back and cornerback Elijah Bridges said they’re ready to make a comeback as a whole.

“Everything ‘bonding-wise’, get everybody glued in, everybody on one accord that’s really what we were lacking last year. I think we got that this year so I think we’re gonna be a better program, better team,” senior running back and cornerback Elijah Bridges said.

G.W. Danville will play at home against Dinwiddie to kick off the season on Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.
