DALEVILLE, Va. – Pickleball is becoming the fastest growing sport in the United States. With that, more and more facilities are accommodating the needs of those that play, that’s including Botetourt Golf & Swim. They flipped their tennis courts into eight pickleball courts that are open to the public for a drop in fee.
“It’s really important and we’re very excited and grateful that they’re willing to invest,” Roanoke Valley Pickleball Club Vice President Karen Crawford said. “The owners of this club decided to let people come and play pickleball on their courts, for a $7 drop in fee, of course there’s memberships, but a 7$ drop in fee to play pickleball?! Then a little walk up the hill, there’s a beautiful pool, $7 drop in to go swimming afterward. That’s so unique in our area, it’s so wonderful. It’s a serene setting and it’s very private if you want to learn and not have a lot of people around you, it’s an ideal spot to learn.”
Botetourt Golf & Swim is one of the only public clubs in the area and anyone can drop in with membership options available as well.
