BLACKSBURG, Va. – The best way to grow, is to just go, week after week. As they navigate through the first half of the season, Virginia Tech is learning how to play and produce together.
“We’re not the type of team, this is not a negative, we’re not the type of team where the offense is going to dominate and we’re going to win 60-58,” Pry said. “We’re not the type of team where we’re going to win 3-0. We’re not the type of team that’s going to have a blocked kick and two punt returns for touchdowns. We have to play complimentary ball, we all got to do our part in each three phases and if we do that, we’re good enough to beat anyone left on our schedule.”

According to head coach Brent Pry, it’s the little things that need to be corrected, and right tackle Parker Clements agrees.
“We’re going to approach each play doing our job in that one of eleven. Good things happen, that’s what I’m hoping everyone else’s mindset is.,” Clements said. “My mindset is to go into each play and do my job to the best of my ability for the people beside me, and good things happen when that happens.”
The Hokies will take on a Pittsburgh squad that’s coming off of a loss to then 1-3 Georgia Tech. Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi is a familiar face for Pry as well.
I do know what coach is about and I have a lot of respect for him. They’re going to play a physical brand of ball, and play good defense, and get on the other side of the line of scrimmage and run the ball, there’s a lot I respect about all of that.
“Our hands are going to be pretty full with this run. They’re a very run oriented team, so I think just being able to stop the run, if we stop the run we will be perfectly fine for the game,” linebacker Jaden Keller said. “We just have to decide if we’re going to stop it or not. That’s what we’ve been working on in practice so I think that’s what we’re going to be able to control.”
Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in Pittsburgh.
