SALEM, Va. – The Glenvar Highlanders have been tough to tame this season, sitting at 8-0-1 entering Tuesday night when they hosted Alleghany.
The scoring came early and often for the Highlanders who lead 3-0 25 minutes into the game. On a corner kick from Colin Clapper, freshman Aidan Hylton was able to connect to put Glenvar in front 5-0.
Later in the 29th minute, Riley Geddes had a 1-on-1 opportunity and found a way to put the ball in the back of the net from the far right side of the field, increasing the Highlanders lead to 6-0.
Glenvar’s seventh goal of the half came from Colin Clapper who went unassisted on a corner kick. Alleghany scored just before halftime off the foot of Aly Juarez but Glenvar would coast to a 10-1 victory.
