RIDGEWAY, Va. โ Magna Vista High School extended a long-time tradition in the town of Ridgeway by thanking local first responders for their decades of support.
Whether they're lined up on the track for the Friday night football games, posting "Go Warriors" signs in front of the fire station before a big volleyball game or waking up at 5 a.m. to support the school for the WSLS 10 1st and 10 kickoff, local first responders have become a constant source of support for the students.
"We love the school. We love the Warriors and we come out and support them every chance we get. We don't care if it's one o'clock in the morning or seven o'clock at night, we're here," Ridgeway Rescue Squad President Darren Lockridge said.
"They mean so much to us and to our school and all we're trying to accomplish here. They show our young people how to be leaders in the community," Magna Vista High School Principal Charles Byrd said.
Before Friday night's game, first responders were lined up on the track and recognized for their service to the community.
