ROANOKE, Va. – Head to downtown Roanoke for the St. Patrick's Day Parade and Shamrock Festival. At the festival, enjoy music, vendors and more runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The parade begins at 11 a.m.Highland County Maple Festival gets underway this weekend. Events take place throughout the county this weekend and next. It’s Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5.

ROANOKE, Va. – New River Community College holds Family Fun Festival. It features activities for the whole family, including face painting, bouncy house, mechanical bull, games and more. Compare products and get ready for the warmer weather and water. Explore the world of sci-fi, fantasy, horror and pop culture at MystiCon. There’s music, art, vendors, costumes and panel discussion with guests including, Zack Ward and Larry Niven.

More than 80 life size dinosaurs exhibits will be set up, as well as the new “Ancient Oceans,” featuring pre-historic sea dwellers. Tickets start at $22. The Jefferson Choral Society presents “More Chart Toppers of the Past.” Enjoy memorable favorites, including I’m a Believer, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Moon River and more. Tickets start at $26. ROANOKE, Va. – Wytheville Community College holds its monthly Bluegrass and Old-Time Jamboree. Bad Ridge and The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters will perform. The George Washington Train Show returns to Clifton Forge this weekend. It’s Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes admission to the C & O Railway Heritage Center.

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - After a nearly 45 year break, the Bedford County Fair returns this weekend. The event features activities for all ages including a youth livestock show, car show as well as a wine tasting, rides, food and more. The Green Hill Highland Games return to Roanoke County. Athletes in kilts will compete in traditional Scottish sports including the weight throw, hammer throw and stone put. The games are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
