Mark Stonis was rushing his wife to the hospital when her water broke as they crossed a bridge. He eventually pulled over and helped her out.
Stonis says he had witnessed the birth of his two daughters - now ages 9 and 5 - and "had a general idea what to do." He tied off the umbilical cord using one of his shoelaces.
After paramedics arrived, the family was taken to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, where mom and baby were doing fine.
