Virginia sees new 2,718 coronavirus cases, now reporting 226,300 statewide

There are now 4,008 deaths from the coronavirus in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. – As of November 25, Virginia is now reporting 226,300 cases of the coronavirus across the commonwealth since March.

387 new cases in Fairfax County

326 new cases in Prince William County

205 new cases in Loudoun County

115 new cases in Chesterfield County

108 new cases in Virginia Beach

89 new cases in Arlington County

70 new cases in Henrico County

64 new cases in Culpeper County

55 new cases in Alexandria

48 new cases in Montgomery County

47 new cases in Chesapeake

46 new cases in Lee County

45 new cases in the cities of Roanoke and Richmond and Franklin County

44 new cases in Hanover County

37 new cases in Hampton

36 new cases in Stafford County

34 new cases in Norfolk and Frederick County

33 new cases in Lynchburg

31 new cases in Pittsylvania County

One new case in Southampton County, Page County, Fluvanna County, King William County, Surry County, Williamsburg, Sussex County, Rappahannock County, Madison County and Middlesex County

Westmoreland County saw one fewer case.

Wednesday’s total of 226,300 cases marks an increase from Tuesday’s total of 223,582 cases.

As of Wednesday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 3,663,682 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
