Virginia sees 2,125 new coronavirus cases, now reporting 206,762 statewide

There are now 3,835 deaths from the coronavirus in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. – As of November 17, Virginia is now reporting 206,762 cases of the coronavirus across the commonwealth since March.

Tuesday’s total of 206,762 cases marks an increase from Monday’s total of 204,637 cases.

Here is a breakdown of the 2,125 new coronavirus cases reported on Tuesday:

  • 192 new cases in Fairfax County
  • 144 new cases in Prince William County
  • 84 new cases in Chesterfield County
  • 82 new cases in Roanoke
  • 80 new cases in Henrico County
  • 77 new cases in Chesapeake
  • 74 new cases in Arlington County
  • 72 new cases in Norfolk
  • 65 new cases in Virginia Beach
  • 64 new cases in Roanoke County
  • 60 new cases in Loudoun County
  • 59 new cases in Frederick County
  • 48 new cases in Richmond
  • 44 new cases in Augusta County
  • 41 new cases in Lynchburg
  • 38 new cases in Culpeper County and Bedford County
  • 35 new cases in Harrisonburg
  • 32 new cases in Newport News
  • 28 new cases in Tazewell County and Alexandria
  • 27 new cases in Fauquier County and Rockingham County
  • 26 new cases in Stafford County
  • 24 new cases in Pittsylvania County
  • 21 new cases in Spotsylvania County

  • 5 new cases in Franklin County, Pulaski County, Rockbridge County, King George County, Prince Edward County, Clarke County and Caroline County
  • 4 new cases in Gloucester County, Appomattox County, Patrick County, Grayson County, Giles County, Westmoreland County, Dinwiddie County and Buckingham County
  • 3 new cases in Fairfax, Dickenson County, Nottoway County, Rappahannock County, Buchanan County, Williamsburg, Bath County, Charlotte County and Manassas Park
  • 2 new cases in Southampton County, Floyd County, Madison County, Louisa County, Fluvanna County, Franklin, Mecklenburg County, Hopewell, Bland County, Mathews County, Radford, New Kent County and Cumberland County
  • 1 new case in Greene County, Amelia County, Fredericksburg, Essex County, Galax, King William County, Northampton County, Craig County, Brunswick County, Surry County, Emporia, Norton, Page County and Falls Church
  • Goochland County has decreased by one case
  • Colonial Heights has decreased by two cases
  • Richmond County has decreased by six cases
  • Petersburg has decreased by eight cases

As of Tuesday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 3,208,319 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
