SALEM (WSLS 10) - The identity of a City of Salem employee seriously hurt in a train accident Tuesday has been released.
Wednesday, the city identified the worker as Curtis Farris.

Farris suffered life threatening injuries after the sanitation truck he was in was hit by a Norfolk Southern train. The train crew was not hurt.
The accident happened just off Apperson Drive.
According to Norfolk Southern, the crossing's flashing lights were working, and the train sounded its horn as it approached the truck.
The incident remains under investigation.
