Roanoke City announces holiday trash collection schedule

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The City of Roanoke announced an alternate trash collection schedule for the week beginning Sunday, December 21.

The City said offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, 26, for the Christmas holiday. As a result, all residents and business owners are asked to place their trash containers, paper recycling, and brush collection out one day in advance.

If your normal collection day is;

• Monday, December 22 - trash, paper recycling and brush collection will be collected on schedule 
• Tuesday, December 23 - trash, paper recycling and brush collection will be collected on Monday 
• Wednesday, December 24 - trash, paper recycling and brush collection will be collected on Tuesday 
• Thursday, December 25 - trash, paper recycling and brush collection will be collected on Wednesday

Central Business District:

CBD will be worked on schedule all week with the exception of Christmas Day; No CBD collection provided on December 25th. CBD collection resumes on Dec. 26.

Those CBD customers that are normally serviced on Thursday mornings will be serviced on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
