DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - A portion of of Danville's riverwalk trail is now considered a Virginia treasure.
The portion runs from Dan River Church to Thrifty Tire.

Governor Terry McAuliffe approved the designation as part of his effort to identify, preserve, and protect 1,000 historical sites, scenic land areas, and waterways.
The portion of the trail was designated because of Danville parks and Rec's effort to protect the natural environment surrounding the area.
