LYNCHBURG, Va. – UPDATE
A man is wanted on a second-degree murder charge in connection with a shooting that left a 22-year-old man dead, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.
Officers responded to the Millwood Apartments around 8:30 p.m. on Monday after receiving a 911 call reporting multiple gunshots. When police arrived, they learned the victim, later identified as Daysun Wilson, 22, of Halifax, had been taken by personal vehicle to Lynchburg General Hospital. Wilson died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
According to investigators, Wilson and the suspect knew each other. Police say that during an altercation, the suspect, identified as Ke John McGhee, 20, of Richmond, pulled out a handgun and shot Wilson.
McGhee is wanted on charges of:
- Second-degree murder
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a murder
Lynchburg Police are actively searching for McGhee, who is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.
